Anime series Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World is almost back with the continuation of its fourth season. Kadokawa just released a new trailer teasing what to expect in the upcoming Recapture Arc. The trailer showcases Subaru’s continued attempts to fix a time-looping nightmare as he weathers his reincarnation.

Re:Zero’s fourth season began on April 8, running for an initial 11 episodes through June 17. Its most recent season has been the show’s best-received yet, racking up a 9.15 score on the user-rating platform MyAnimeList. That puts it as the second-highest-rated anime of all time, behind only the first season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.

Season 4’s most recent episode debuted with a perfect 10/10 rating on IMDb after 23,000 reviews, temporarily making it the highest-rated TV series episode of all time. While the episode has dipped slightly to 9.9 after 71,000 reviews, considerable hype surrounds the rest of the season.

The final eight episodes of Re:Zero‘s fourth season will begin airing on Aug. 12, marking a nine-week gap between the fourth season’s first and second cours. The episodes are expected to adapt up to the light novel’s 25th volume. More than 45 volumes exist and counting. The series began as a web novel on the self-publishing platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō before Media Factory published it in Japan and Yen Press published it in North America.

The anime adaptation began in 2016 and has run for 77 episodes. The show centers on Subaru Natsuki, a NEET summoned to a fantasy world where he learns he has the power to turn back time after his death. Fans and critics praise the series for its characters, themes, and fresh takes on isekai storytelling.
