The world of Forza Horizon 6 is constantly evolving. With each monthly series update comes a dynamic lineup of weekly events, fresh challenges, and coveted rewards available through the Festival Playlist. If you haven’t yet, now is the ideal moment to dive into the Horizon Mascot Party series and register your quickest lap time on the limited-time Time Attack Circuit.

To celebrate gamescom, Playground Games has pulled back the curtain on what lies ahead. Prepare to disengage traction control, dial in counter-steer, and kick up plumes of tire smoke: next month introduces Drift Attack, an exhilarating Shared World drifting discipline. Drivers can roll straight up to the Shimanoyama Circuit, glide under the entry gantry seamlessly from freeroam with zero loading screens, and unleash their ultimate sideways skills to top the scoring charts.

In addition, an exclusive brand partnership with 7-Eleven, Inc. is officially underway. Driven by community suggestions submitted via the Forza Feedback Portal, the game will welcome a 7-Eleven Evolving World along with a bespoke EventLab Content Pack. Full details will be revealed ahead of their debut in the upcoming October series update.

Attending gamescom in person? Make sure to visit the Xbox showcase for hands-on access to Drift Attack and capture photos of the one-of-a-kind, 7-Eleven-liveried show car. Fans can also head over to the LEGO® booth to admire high-precision LEGO® Technic™ automotive builds.

Introducing Drift Attack

Arriving in the next series update on September 7, Drift Attack fuses the accessible freedom of traditional Drift Zones with the competitive thrill of Horizon Drift. Much like Car Meets, Drag Meets, and Time Attack Circuits, the feature operates within the Shared World with complete fluidity—no matchmaking lobbies, no wait times, and no interruptions.

Conceptually, Drift Attack serves as the drifter’s equivalent of Time Attack. Rather than shaving fractions off a lap timer, your objective is amassing the highest drift score possible—whether you are sliding solo, coordinating tandems in a Convoy, or chasing fellow drivers encountered across the map.

Drift Attack Gameplay on Shimanoyama Circuit

Following the update, the Shimanoyama Circuit will permanently convert into a dedicated Drift Attack venue marked by an exclusive map icon. Initiation is effortless: simply pilot your car through the track gantry from the open world.

While base scoring mirrors classic drift mechanics, the mode introduces strategic Clipping Zones placed strategically throughout the circuit. Maintaining high slip angles inside these marked perimeters significantly multiplies your score output. Best of all, lap limits do not apply—run as many continuous rotations as your tires can endure.

Clipping Zones in Drift Attack

Drift Attack fully integrates with both world and Convoy leaderboards, complete with comprehensive drivetrain filtering (RWD, AWD, FWD). Progressing through the Horizon Festival Campaign to earn your Yellow Wristband unlocks the mode, granting access to a custom-tuned reward: the drift-ready 1990 Jaguar XJ-S Forza Edition. A factory stock variant will simultaneously arrive at the Autoshow for conventional purchase.

While the Shimanoyama layout remains a permanent fixture, look forward to seasonal Evolving World Drift Attack courses appearing in future series updates.

Celebrating British Automotive Excellence

The excitement extends well beyond drift enthusiasts. Launching September 10, the Horizon Festival kicks off a dedicated British Automotive Celebration. Expect exclusive showroom discounts on rare and legendary British marques, three brand-new British additions unlockable via Festival Playlist milestones, and four new vehicles delivered straight to Car Pass owners.
