Resident Evil Village: Capcom accused of plagiarism for one of the bosses of the game, the resemblance is disturbing

Available since last Friday on consoles, PC and Stadia, would Resident Evil Village have plagiarized Richard Raaphorst? In any case, this is what the Dutch director asserts who, in a message posted on LinkedIn, accuses Capcom of being inspired by one of its creatures present in Frankenstein’s Army (2013). “It’s a bit of a crazy monster movie that features creatures that I created, and one of them was used in the new Resident Evil without any permission or mention of me.“, he explains.

Naturally, the guy accompanies his message with clichés which, it is true, are enough to sow doubt. If the resemblance between Sturm (the offending Resident Evil Village boss, therefore) and Richard Raaphorst’s monster is quite striking, there is no evidence that this is a deliberate act on Capcom’s part. Anyway, we take this opportunity to remind you that Maximilien attributed a nice 18 out of 20 to the adventures of Ethan Winters. A sure bet, obviously.
