Rebellion purchase one other studio, TickTock Games

Rebellion, the English builders and publishers behind games together with Sniper Elite and Strange Brigade (in addition to the galaxy’s biggest comedian, 2000 AD), have added a fourth studio to their fold. They introduced at this time that they’ve purchased TickTock Games, the Yorkshire mob who had beforehand chipped in on Rebellion initiatives together with Rogue Trooper Redux. Rebellion North is now their identify (no they haven’t moved to Edinburgh, nor Dundee), and so they’re already contributing to a number of of Rebellion’s mysterious upcoming games. Nice to see an organization nonetheless rising and taking up new workers in nowadays of woe.

TickTock don’t appear to have any standout games of their very own, principally engaged on cellular games and contributing to different studios’ initiatives, however evidently Rebellion favored what they noticed after they collaborated on Rogue Trooper Redux and the Switch model of Battlezone. They be a part of Rebellion’s satellite tv for pc studios in Liverpool and Warwick, orbiting the Oxford headquarters.

“Bringing more great people to the company is a great way to start 2019,” Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley mentioned in today’s announcement. “The company continues to grow and it’s important we bring in the right people as part of that process. We’ve worked with the team at TickTock Games for a while now, and we know they’ll continue to prosper as Rebellion North.”

Rebellion say they’ve a number of unannounced games deliberate to launch in 2019.

I’m nonetheless a bit shocked by Rebellion rising a lot, provided that their games are largely y’know effective, however honest play to ’em. There aren’t a lot of these mid-tier publishers left, and so they’ve bounced again from some rocky years with wonky games. Maybe at some point they’ll have one other crack at a brand new game primarily based on tales from 2000 AD. God is aware of I’d like to go to Mega City One in a game higher than Judge Dredd: Dredd Vs. Death.

With Rebellion engaged on a Mega City One TV present, possibly sufficient curiosity will develop to… ah, dream on, Alice. But it doesn’t even should be enormous! The Judge Dredd film confirmed that specializing in one small nook might be fascinating and… calm your self, hen.
