Reba McEntire and Rex Linn Get Engaged at the 2025 Primetime Emmys

Country music icon Reba McEntire and actor Rex Linn announced their engagement while attending the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards.

The pair, who star together in NBC’s sitcom Happy’s Place — McEntire as Bobbie and Linn as Emmett — confirmed the news on the red carpet when an interviewer with E! News referred to Linn as McEntire’s fiancé.

McEntire smiled and said they were enjoying their time on Happy’s Place and were happy to be at the Emmys. She was also seen wearing a black ring on her left ring finger, and a representative for McEntire has confirmed to Billboard that the couple is engaged.

Later in the evening at the Ovation Theater at L.A. Live, McEntire joined Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman to perform the theme from The Golden Girls, “Thank You for Being a Friend,” for the show’s 40th-anniversary tribute, and she presented the Emmy for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series.

The couple first made their relationship public in 2020, a detail McEntire shared on her podcast, Learning with Reba McEntire. She has described Linn as a kind, attentive partner and recounted how their bond deepened through conversations, dinners and frequent FaceTime chats during the pandemic.

McEntire and Linn originally crossed paths years earlier on the set of the 1980 television movie The Gambler. McEntire was previously married to Narvel Blackstock; their separation was announced in 2015 after 26 years of marriage. Before that, she was married to Charlie Battles from 1976 to 1987. Linn has not been married.
