Razer: the anti-COVIG RGB mask will be marketed, it enters the beta test phase

Remember, that was last January: Razer unveils self-sterilizing, chroma RGB anti-COVID mask to the world, responding to the name of Project Hazel. We were treated to a promotional trailer, some prototypes for the presentation of the product and a desire to offer something different, stylish and in the Razer spirit. Since then, several months have passed and the brand with the neon green snake announces the marketing of this mask which now has an official name: Zephyr. Of course, some elements have evolved since the prototype but overall we remain quite close to what was presented to us at the beginning of 2021. The mask will indeed always be transparent, in order to facilitate social exchanges (we can see the lips of his interlocutor), he will always be equipped with N95 respiratory protection, including active ventilators, removable and powered by rechargeable batteries. This will allow the air to circulate inside, knowing that the mask will also incorporate standard filters that can be easily changed after use. On the techno side, the Zephyr mask also retains its integrated microphone and amplifier, which will amplify and improve the sound of the voice thanks to the VoiceAmp software. Do not forget to specify that the mask will also have Chroma RGB lighting zones which will illuminate the user’s mouth, with no less than 16.8 million colors.

The only changes that we have seen on the new – but short – video of the Razer Zephyr is a change in shape, with a slightly smaller mask and above all attachments that no longer surround the ears, but which attach to the back of the head, much like the PlayStation VR, which is not to displease us, especially when we consider how much the straps of the masks can pull on the ears. Another important detail in Razer’s marketing, the Zephyr mask is not presented as a simple surgical mask evolved to fight COVID-19, it is now a mobile air purifier that will also allow us to defend ourselves against d other everyday illnesses. Razer is indeed convinced that wearing a mask will become widespread around the world, even once the Coronavirus pandemic is behind us.

Therefore, those who are interested in the product can already register on the Razer site to be among the first to receive the mask and be one of the early users before the next launch. At the moment, no release date or price has been marketed, but given the on-board techno, it will undoubtedly be more than 150 € for sure.
