A publicist says Rock & Roll Hall of Fame guitarist Gene Cornish of The Rascals had a pacemaker implanted after collapsing on stage throughout a Montana live performance.
Melissa Kucirek mentioned Thursday a coronary heart arrhythmia precipitated Cornish to break down in Billings on Sept. 7 whereas performing with keyboardist Felix Cavaliere and visitor drummer Carmine Appice.
Cornish, 74, mentioned he was grateful for the 2 nurses in attendance who got here to his support, together with others.
Kucirek says Cornish has been cleared to begin his rehabilitation and resume performances in October.
Cornish and Cavaliere had been two of the founding members of The Rascals in 1965. Their No. 1 hits had been “Groovin,” ″Good Lovin’” and “People Got to Be Free.”
They had been inducted into the hall in 1997.
