Rare Early Oasis Photos on Display in LA as Reunion Tour Sparks Global Frenzy

As Oasis continues to captivate sold-out audiences worldwide on their reunion tour, it’s almost impossible to imagine them as anything other than stadium-filling rock legends. Yet, there was a time when they were simply a promising quintet from Manchester.

During the early ’90s, acclaimed British photographer Kevin Cummins documented the Gallagher brothers and their bandmates in candid, unforgettable portraits. A selection of these images appears in his recently released photo anthology Oasis: The Masterplan, published this past March.

In anticipation of Oasis’s first Los Angeles shows since 2008, Hollywood’s Musichead Gallery is presenting an exhibition of Cummins’s photographs titled Oasis: Be Here Now. The show opens on September 4 with an artist talk and book signing by Cummins, and remains on view through early November. A limited-edition poster—only 500 copies—will also be available for purchase.

Mirroring the scope of Cummins’s book, the exhibition focuses on the year following Oasis’s 1993 signing with Creation Records, the Sony imprint behind their breakthrough albums Definitely Maybe (1994) and (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? (1995).

“We’re honored to host Kevin Cummins and celebrate both Oasis and the spirit of Manchester,” says Musichead founder and curator Sam Milgrom. “His new book and photo exhibition offer fans an intimate glimpse into the band’s formative years and enduring impact.”

The exhibition debuts just two days before Oasis Live ’25 arrives at Pasadena’s Rose Bowl on September 6 and 7. It coincides with the launch of the band’s L.A. pop-up store—the first Oasis Live ’25 Fan Store in North America—which opened on August 20 along Hollywood Boulevard.

Oasis performs at Chicago’s Soldier Field on August 28, then moves on to East Rutherford, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, and Mexico City before returning to London on September 27 and 28. The tour continues through South America and Asia before concluding in late November.
