Randy of Reggaeton Duo Jowell y Randy Inks Exclusive Deal With ONErpm

Randy Ortiz, best known as “Randy Nota Loca,” has signed an exclusive contract with ONErpm, Billboard has learned.

The Puerto Rican artist, who officially kicked off his career in 2002 as part of the popular reggaeton duo Jowell y Randy, inked a deal with the distribution and marketing company for the release of his upcoming solo album.

Under the new deal, Randy will release a compilation of three new solo singles, forming the “first season” of his next studio album, where he experiments with new reggaeton and perreo fusions including R&B, electronic guaracha and more.

“Working with Randy and his team at ONErpm is incredible for me and I know we are going to achieve something historic,” Jose Castro, a&r at ONErpm, said in a statement.

Billboard can confirm that Jowell y Randy have not broken up and that the duo are still signed under Rimas Entertainment. As part of the duo, Randy has positioned himself on the Billboard charts with songs such as “Bonita” alongside J Balvin and the Bad Bunny-assisted “Safaera,” two songs that have garnered a new audience for the urban pair.

With ONErpm, he’s set to release his third solo project, following Roses & Wine (2015) and Romances de una Nota Loka (2017). The three-song compilation is set to be released this month.
