A member of Russia’s Pussy Riot protest group says a fellow activist who was hospitalized for doable poisoning has regained consciousness.
Group member Maria Alekhina instructed The Associated Press through Facebook that Pyotr Verzilov regained consciousness on Friday, however remained in intensive care. Verzilov has been within the hospital since falling sick Tuesday.
Alekhina mentioned she thinks he positively was poisoned and “there’s nothing other than politics” behind it.
Independent Russian information web site Meduza reported Thursday that Verzilov’s docs instructed his relations he both overdosed on medication or was given an excessive amount of medication. Meduza didn’t specify the substance.
Verzilov and different activists served 15-day jail sentences for disrupting July’s World Cup ultimate to protest extreme Russian police powers.
