PS5 Emulator SharpEmu Supports Six Games at 60 FPS in Ongoing Development
Launching demanding games still presents challenges.
The developers of the PlayStation 5 emulator called “SharpEmu” recently reached an important new milestone in emulation. They tested 55 games, 12 of which allow players to reach actual gameplay, while six were rated as “playable” at 60 FPS.
However, the “playable” status in SharpEmu does not currently mean that a specific game can be completed from start to finish. The games listed below run without major issues, but users may encounter graphical glitches or audio errors:
- Dreaming Sarah
- Terrarium
- New Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja
- Tetris Forever
- Hoa
- Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19 on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles. Some players hope that emulators will eventually allow them to play Rockstar Games’ new title before its official PC release.
However, this remains difficult to imagine for now. Various demanding projects, such as the Demon’s Souls remake, GTA V, or Astro Bot, currently run with significant technical issues, though tech enthusiasts occasionally manage to reach 30 FPS.
