Promising Time-Loop Metroidvania Echo Weaver Launches on Consoles and PC This October

Ever since its announcement, Echo Weaver has been high on our radar. This ambitious title from the team at Moonlight Kids puts a clever, time-looping spin on the Metroidvania formula—a subgenre the developers have affectionately dubbed “Metroidbrainia.” We’ve been dying to get our hands on it, and we are thrilled to confirm that Echo Weaver is officially launching on PC and consoles this October 8.
In Echo Weaver, you assume the role of the last remaining Weaver navigating the remnants of a fallen civilization. While it retains the core pillars of a classic 2D exploration game—traversing interconnected maps, engaging in tactical combat, and deciphering environmental riddles—it reinvents the progression loop. Rather than restricting your path behind traditional power-ups, the game focuses on your personal growth as a player. You aren’t just finding new tools; you are mastering mechanics. Even if you discover an area before you’ve officially “learned” a technique, the game trusts in your ingenuity to overcome the obstacle. During our early sessions, the platforming and puzzle design felt incredibly sharp, further fueling our excitement for what Moonlight Kids has built.
If you want a deeper look at the game, you can find our exclusive hands-on preview in the latest issue of Game Informer. When the full game arrives on October 8, players will be able to jump into the action on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, the Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
