Professor Layton and The New World of Steam Gameplay Shown in New 20-Minute Video

Tokyo Game Show 2026 featured a 20-minute gameplay showcase for Professor Layton and The New World of Steam, highlighting the steam-powered city of Steam Bison, puzzles, and a coin-based hint system.

Professor Layton and The New World of Steam received a new demonstration at Tokyo Game Show 2026.

The new video showcases a portion of the story set in Steam Bison, a city powered by steam technology. Layton and Luke travel to the Eggmuffin factory, where they encounter new puzzles and a mysterious plot. Challenges include finding the correct door among many options and helping the factory owner repair a machine.

LEVEL-5 also introduced a new hint system. Players can collect special coins and spend them on extra hints to prevent difficult puzzles from halting their progress.

Professor Layton and The New World of Steam will launch on December 10, 2026, for PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Pricing has not been announced yet, and an Xbox release remains unconfirmed.
