Portishead and Benedict Cumberbatch Join Together for Palestine Relief Concert Lineup

Brian Eno’s benefit concert Together for Palestine has expanded its roster with the inclusion of Bristol legends Portishead.

Set for September 17 at London’s OVO Arena Wembley, the evening will raise money for the Choose Love charity, funding Palestinian-led relief groups including Taawon, Palestine Children’s Relief Fund and Palestine Medical Relief Service. New performers joining the line-up include Celeste and Leigh-Anne; Palestinian musicians Saint Levant and El Far3i; rising star Elyanna; and actors Amer Hlehel, Benedict Cumberbatch, Charithra Chandran, Guy Pearce, Motaz Malhees and Ramy Youssef. Broadcasters Louis Theroux and Jameela Jamil—and Holocaust survivor Stephen Kapos—will also appear.

Portishead will reunite for a pre-recorded performance of “Roads.” In a statement they said, “We are incredibly honored to stand in solidarity with Palestine and be part of this crucial event. The genocide must stop.”

The band’s last public performance was at a 2022 War Child UK benefit in Bristol. Their previous festival tour was in 2014; since then, frontwoman Beth Gibbons has released her solo album Lives Outgrown (2024).

Jameela Jamil commented, “Together For Palestine will be a moment in history when we can say we stood on the side of humanity. It will be a night of music and hope.” Guy Pearce added, “Witnessing the atrocities in Palestine is heartbreaking. This concert allows me to speak out and show solidarity with the people of Gaza.”

The evening’s programme also features Jamie xx, Damon Albarn, PinkPantheress, Bastille, King Krule, Greentea Peng, James Blake and more. Brian Eno leads as executive producer alongside Khaled Ziada, Khalid Abdalla and Tracey Seaward. Visuals are overseen by Gazan painter Malak Mattar, with direction by theatre-maker Amir Nizar Zuabi.
