London police have questioned Liam Gallagher in reference to a doable assault captured on CCTV footage, the BBC reports. In August, UK tabloid The Sun revealed a report claiming that Gallagher grabbed his girlfriend Debbie Gwyther by the throat at a London restaurant. Following the report, Gallagher tweeted, “I have never put my hands on any woman in a vicious manner.” On Instagram, Gwyther referred to as The Sun’s report a “pack of lies” and “lazy, sexist nonsense.” “Legal case impending,” she added.

According to the BBC, a spokeswoman for London’s Metropolitan Police stated, “Officers are aware of footage of an incident consistent with assault believed to have taken place in August 2018,” including, “The footage has been assessed and inquiries will be made into the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident…. No specific allegations have been received at this time.”

Pitchfork has contacted representatives for Liam Gallagher and Debbie Gwyther.
