For those who missed it, Poinpy is a vibrant mobile title from Moppin—the pseudonym of Ojiro Fumoto, the visionary designer behind Downwell. Players control a small green creature tasked with scaling an ever-changing stage using a finite pool of bouncy jumps. The goal is to collect various ingredients to craft juice and keep a ravenous beast at bay. Though it was previously locked behind a Netflix Games subscription, it has since departed that service and is now available as a standalone, free-to-play release on both iOS and Android.

Interestingly, the game’s catchy score was composed by Calum Bowen, whose sonic work you might recognize from the critically acclaimed mystery title The Mermaid Mask. Beyond this project, Fumoto is also celebrated for his work on UFO 50 and his directorial efforts on Seaside Drive.

You can download Poinpy for free right now on the App Store and Google Play. While Game Informer didn’t publish an official review at the time, our current executive editor Kyle Hilliard offered his thoughts during his tenure at GameSpot, awarding the game an impressive 8/10.
