Bill Cosby’s Hollywood peers, from Cosby Show cast mates to rappers, are reacting to Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturning his sex assault conviction on Wednesday (June 30).
The 83-year-old served more than two years of a three- to 10-year sentence at a state prison near Philadelphia, where he has since been released. Cosby was convicted in 2018 of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand, a former basketball player and Temple University employee, at his suburban home in 2004. Cosby was the one of the very first celebrities tried and convicted following the #MeToo movement.
Phylicia Rashad, Cosby’s co-star who played his on-screen wife Clair Huxtable on The Cosby Show from 1984 to 1992, celebrated the news. “FINALLY!!!! A terrible wrong is being righted- a miscarriage of justice is corrected!” she tweeted.
