Pegi Young, a musician and Neil Young’s former spouse, died on January 1 following a yearlong battle with most cancers, a statement on Young’s Facebook web page confirms. She’s survived by her kids with Neil Young, Ben and Amber. Young was a back-up singer on Neil Young’s excursions for years, and in 2007, she began her profession as a solo musician along with her debut self-titled album. She launched 5 albums and fronted a band referred to as Pegi Young and the Survivors.
Inspired by their son Ben who was born with cerebral palsy, Pegi and Neil Young based the Bridge School in 1986. The establishment helps kids with bodily and speech impairments. They supported the college with an annual all-star profit live performance, which befell yearly from 1986 to 2016. Pegi and Neil Young divorced in 2014. Her final album was 2017’s Raw.
