Paris Jackson Denies Colman Domingo’s Claim That She Aided the Michael Jackson Biopic: “Keep Me Out of It”

Paris Jackson has taken issue with reports that she supported Colman Domingo’s remarks about her involvement in the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic, clarifying that she actually distanced herself after deeming the script “insincere.”

On September 2, 2025, the singer-songwriter and actress addressed the Euphoria star via her Instagram Stories, writing, “Don’t be telling people I was ‘helpful’ on the set of a movie I had zero involvement in—that is so odd.”

She added, “I reviewed an early draft and pointed out what felt misleading or inaccurate to me. When those concerns went unaddressed, I moved on. Not my circus, not my monkeys.”

Billboard has reached out to Domingo’s representatives for comment.

These corrections follow Domingo’s interview with People, in which he stated that Paris and her brother, Prince Jackson, were “very much in support of our film” and had been “helpful” to the production. People has since amended the article to remove the claim regarding Paris’s participation in the biopic.

Domingo is slated to portray Joe Jackson, Michael’s father and former manager, in Antoine Fuqua’s Michael, now eyeing an April 2026 release after several postponements.

In subsequent Instagram videos, Paris reflected on the broader challenges of biographical cinema: “Hollywood is a fantasy factory—stories are marketed as reality, but they’re not.”

“Narratives get shaped by whoever tells them,” she continued. “There’s a lot of inaccuracy and outright falsehoods. That doesn’t sit well with me; I don’t tolerate dishonesty. I spoke up, but no one listened, so I walked away.”

Despite her reservations, Paris encouraged fans to judge the film on its merits: “You’re all going to enjoy the movie—go watch it, have fun. Just leave me out of it.”

Originally scheduled for late 2025, Michael was first delayed in November 2024 and then again when extensive reshoots were required to navigate a decades-old legal agreement regarding dramatic depictions of the family of Jordan Chandler, the individual who accused Jackson of molestation in the 1990s.

Michael Jackson was never convicted or found civilly liable in connection with those allegations, and his estate has consistently refuted any wrongdoing.
