Katherine Short, the 42-year-old daughter of acclaimed American comedian Martin Short, has tragically passed away by suicide. Her body was discovered in her Los Angeles residence on February 23. Law enforcement responded to the scene after relatives, alerted by distressing sounds coming from the property, contacted emergency services.
Unlike her famous father, Katherine chose to lead a life away from the Hollywood spotlight, dedicating much of her career to social work and advocacy. She spent several years working with “Bring Change to Mind,” a prominent organization focused on dismantling the stigma associated with mental health struggles.
Katherine’s most recent public appearance was a heartfelt outing with her father to celebrate his birthday.
Martin Short and his late wife, Nancy Dolman, raised three children together, all of whom were welcomed into their family through adoption; Katherine was the eldest of the three.
