Even pop royalty Britney Spears can’t resist spinning a Justin Timberlake tune now and then.
In a new Instagram story shared Wednesday, Spears soaks up the sun aboard a boat, clad in a vibrant green bikini as she dances to JT and Timbaland’s collaboration, “Carry Out.”
Later in the clip, the Princess of Pop peppers her speech with a playful, unplaceable accent while chatting with the vessel’s captain. “My buddy and I are out here in this water!” she exclaims, proudly revealing her secluded locale. “Look at us! Sorry, I’m such a nerd.”
Spears’ decision to soundtrack her seafaring adventure with the 2009 hit—which peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100—adds intrigue given her past with Timberlake. The former couple dated from 1999 to 2002, and in her 2023 memoir, Spears disclosed candid details about their relationship, including alleged infidelities.
Despite that history, Spears has publicly praised her ex’s work before. In 2024, she gushed about being “so in love with Justin Timberlake’s new song ‘Selfish,’” and this past March, she shared a video of herself dancing by a fire to his track “Señorita.”
This playful post arrives just weeks after Timberlake revealed his Lyme disease diagnosis in a heartfelt message following the conclusion of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour.
“If you’ve lived through this illness or know someone who has, you understand how mentally and physically draining it can be,” he shared. “When I first received the diagnosis, I was shocked, but it also explained why I sometimes battled intense nerve pain and overwhelming fatigue on stage.”
Meanwhile, Spears has been delighting fans with behind-the-scenes glimpses of her daily life, from casual outings to tender moments with her son, Jayden.
