Olivia Rodrigo Scores 5th Week Atop Artist 100 Chart, Joni Mitchell Debuts

Olivia Rodrigo returns to No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart (dated July 17) for a fifth total week in charge, thanks to the continued success of her debut LP Sour.

The album rebounds for a third week atop the Billboard 200 with 88,000 equivalent album units earned, according to MRC Data. Nine of the set’s 11 songs concurrently chart on the latest Billboard Hot 100, led by former No. 1 “Good 4 U” at No. 2. Also in the top 40: “Deja Vu” (No. 10; peaked at No. 3); “Drivers License” (No. 33,spent eight weeks at No. 1); and “Traitor” (No. 38; peaked at No. 9).

Rodrigo is the sixth solo woman to reach the five-week milestone atop the Artist 100, dating to the list’s 2014 launch, after Taylor Swift (48 weeks at No. 1, the most among all acts), Ariana Grande (15), Adele, Billie Eilish (10 each), and Lady Gaga (six).

Among other Artist 100 chart moves, Joni Mitchell debuts at No. 63 thanks to her new four-disc box set The Reprise Albums (1968-1971). The compilation, which presents remastered versions of her first four albums on Reprise (Song to a Seagull, Clouds, Ladies of the Canyon and Blue), debuts at No. 5 on Americana/Folk Albums, No. 7 on Top Album Sales and No. 17 on Vinyl Albums.

The debut follows the 50th anniversary of the release of Mitchell’s classic LP Blue, which debuted on last week’s Top Album Sales chart at No. 21.

The Artist 100 measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.
