Summer truly begins when Kaytranada delivers a fresh soundscape, and this year he obliges with his fourth studio album, Ain’t No Damn Way!, released Friday, August 15 via RCA Records.
Posting on Instagram on Monday, August 11, he teased the project with playful disbelief: “Oh lord, not another album titled AIN’T NO DAMN WAY! – dropping this Friday???” alongside an illustration of a winking, whimsical character embracing him. The announcement was swiftly followed by the lead single “Space Invader,” accompanied by his promise that the album is perfect for “workouts, dancing, studying, and anyone who thrives on vibrant beats.”
Ain’t No Damn Way! arrives one year after his previous release Timeless, which peaked at No. 28 on the Billboard 200 and No. 2 on Top Dance Albums. In the interim, Kaytranada has lent his remix prowess to Mariah Carey’s “Don’t Forget About Us” from the 20th Anniversary Edition of The Emancipation of Mimi and reimagined JT’s “Ran Out,” while also producing Justine Skye’s “Oh Lala” and contributing to FLO’s “The Mood.”
Additionally, Kaytranada appears on Teyana Taylor’s forthcoming fourth album Escape Room, set to arrive Friday, August 22 with his feature on the track “Open Invite.”
This fall, he will embark on a co-headlining North American tour with Justice. The 15-date journey launches October 16 at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena and culminates November 16 at Miami’s Kaseya Center. He also steps in as the opener for The Weeknd’s Canadian shows on the After Hours til Dawn Tour, replacing Playboi Carti after having joined the tour’s previous legs.
