Nintendo Switch 2 Boosts Console Sales in the U.S. by 32%

The Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller has once again claimed the top spot among accessories, leading both in units sold and in revenue.

Three months after its release, the Nintendo Switch 2 remains the best‑selling game console in the United States. In August 2025, Nintendo’s new system led the market in both unit sales and revenue, offsetting double‑digit declines for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series family, and the original Switch, according to analytics firm Circana.

Total hardware sales in August rose 32% year‑over‑year to $312 million. Year‑to‑date through 2025, hardware revenue reached $2.9 billion, a 20% increase compared with the same period last year.

As of August 30, the Nintendo Switch 2 has sold more than 2.4 million units in the U.S., putting its sales pace 77% ahead of the original Switch at the comparable point in its lifecycle.
