Studio founded in 2002 and based in Vancouver, Next Level Games is now part of the Nintendo fold. It is indeed official for a few hours, the Japanese manufacturer has bought the Canadian company behind several games in the Mario universe including Mario Smash Football on GameCube, Mario Strikers Charged Football or more recently Luigi’s Mansion 2 (3DS) and Luigi’s Mansion 3 on Nintendo Switch. If the amount of the transaction has not been revealed, the marriage between Nintendo and Next Level Games is not surprising in the sense that the Canadian studio has already worked closely with the Japanese manufacturer since 2005. Better, in 2014, the studio announced that it was going to put itself at the full disposal of Nintendo, because of the interesting projects entrusted to them. It remains to be seen what is the next game in development between the two companies.
