Nicole Kidman Files for Divorce from Keith Urban After 19 Years of Marriage

Nicole Kidman has initiated legal proceedings to end her marriage to Keith Urban after nearly two decades together. According to court documents filed in Nashville on September 29, 2025, Kidman cited “marital difficulties and irreconcilable differences.”

The filing — which lists the date of separation as the same day the paperwork was submitted — includes a parenting plan for the couple’s two teenage daughters. Under the agreement, Kidman will have primary physical custody for 306 days each year, while Urban will have visitation every other weekend.

Their filing states that the former spouses will divide real property, vehicles and other personal possessions amicably. Each party will retain sole ownership of their respective intellectual property, publishing and recording rights.

Representatives for Kidman and Urban have been contacted for comment.

The news of Kidman’s filing follows reports earlier this week that the pair had separated. The two began dating in 2005 and married in Sydney in 2006. One of their final public appearances together before the split was at a FIFA Club World Cup match in June 2025, the same month they marked their 19th wedding anniversary.

The divorce documents note a required waiting period: the legal dissolution cannot be finalized until at least 90 days after the final court hearing.
