Nick Jonas is assuring fans he’s “OK” after reports that he suffered an on-set injury over the weekend.
On Monday night’s (May 17) new episode of The Voice, host Carson Daly checked in with Jonas after TMZ reported that he was hospitalized due to an injury he suffered Saturday while filming a new show.
“I’m feeling OK. I’ve been better, but I’m doing all right,” Jonas told Daly, explaining that he had a “cracked rib from a spill on a bike and a few other bumps and bruises.”
The Voice coach wanted to clear the air about the extent of his injuries “in case I’m not as physically enthusiastic as I usually am,” he said, adding to fellow coach Blake Shelton: “Please don’t make me laugh too much, because it kind of hurts to laugh.”
Of course, Shelton didn’t even wait one second before cracking a joke: “You’re just trying to get sympathy votes on this show, that’s all you’re doing,” the country singer quipped.
“Yes, it’s a big elaborate plan!” Jonas said.
Jonas has a big week ahead of him, as he’s set to host the Billboard Music Awards for the very first time on Sunday, May 23, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC. The Weeknd leads all finalists with nods in 16 categories. See the full list of finalists here.
