New Warhammer 40,000 Starter Sets and Terrain Kits Announced

Warhammer 40,000 fans will soon have access to new starter sets, paint collections, terrain kits, and a fabric Armageddon gaming mat.

Games Workshop showcased these releases during The Big Summer Warhammer Preview Show 2026.

A new starter set will include two complete Combat Patrol armies—Space Marines and Orks. The box features the core rulebook, 15 unpainted terrain pieces, a double-sided gaming board, measuring tools, dice, and a beginner guide.

The Getting Started with Space Marines and Getting Started with Orks sets provide a full Combat Patrol force, an introductory guide, a brush, and 11 faction-specific paints.

A separate introductory set for new players contains 12 miniatures: a Space Marine Lieutenant, 5 Intercessors, an Ork Nob, and 5 Boyz. It also comes with 6 paints, a guide, folding cardboard terrain, a gaming mat, and learning materials. Three paint kits will also go on sale. Two kits contain 6 paints tailored to either Orks or Space Marines. The third kit includes 13 paints, a brush, clippers, and a moldline remover.

The Combat Zone set features snap-fit, unpainted terrain pieces, folding game boards, and designated terrain zones for Combat Patrol. Battlezone: Armageddon will allow players to build a battlefield themed after the planet Armageddon.

Each box includes 28 terrain pieces, such as ruins, galvanic relays, and capacitors. These sets, along with the fabric gaming mat and other terrain kits, will be available for purchase soon.
