CloverWorks studio’s anime anthology will combine three independent stories.

Aniplex USA has released a new trailer for GROTESQQQUE, an anime anthology from studio CloverWorks overseen by Atsushi Nishigori, the director of Darling in the Franxx and chief animation director of Evangelion: 3.0+1.01.

The film consists of three independent stories with different worlds and heroines. In ÆLIENS, an alien named Eli arrives on Earth as a goodwill ambassador and tries to befriend humans who remain afraid of extraterrestrials.

In Yoroshiku★Girl, gyaru girls battle for the title of Queen in a neon city of eternal night. This segment was directed by Takahiro Miura, the director of Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works.

The third story, NOCTURN, follows a pure-blood vampire and three girls she infected as they travel in a van through a world after the death of humanity. It was directed by Nishigori, who also directed ÆLIENS.

The world premiere of GROTESQQQUE already took place at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal. The next special screening will take place on October 8 at New York’s Japan Society, where Nishigori will personally present the film to the audience. The anthology will be released in Japanese theaters on November 6, while an international release date remains unknown.
