New Trailer and Seven Minutes of Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow Gameplay Released

Vertigo Games — the studio responsible for Metro Awakening — has released a new trailer for Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow and published a seven-minute gameplay showcase of their forthcoming stealth-action title. Reporters have posted previews and early impressions of Legacy of Shadow.

Eurogamer noted that the game looks promising and may become a worthy addition to the Thief franchise.

Virtual reality heightens the atmosphere and helps players fully inhabit the role of a nimble thief. You can grab guards by the legs to topple and stun them, or strike them on the head with a club to knock them out. Candles can be snuffed by pinching the flame with your fingers, or blown out using the VR headset’s microphone.

Reviewers appreciated that, as with earlier entries, objectives can be approached in multiple ways — many of them subtle or non-obvious. Levels also feature optional side tasks that reward keen observation.

Journalists praised the visuals and optimization, though several noted that the controls can occasionally feel unresponsive.

Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow is slated to release on PC and PS VR2 before the end of the year.
