Disney and 20th Century Studios have revealed the premiere date for the new feature-length film The Simpsons Movie. The franchise’s second big-screen installment will open in the U.S. on July 23, 2027.
Plot details have not been disclosed. The original Simpsons movie was released in 2007 and earned $536 million worldwide.
The animated series The Simpsons debuted in 1989. The story is set in the town of Springfield, where Homer lives with his family: his wife Marge, his son Bart, and daughters Lisa and Maggie. The most recent—its 36th—season concluded in May of this year.
