New Reports Shed Light on Hideo Kojima’s Physint and Rumored Xbox Budget
Xbox is reportedly ready to allocate about $400 million for Hideo Kojima’s new spy game, Physint, though Jason Schreier asserts that the final deal amount is significantly lower.
The Game Business reports that Microsoft intends to invest in games with high commercial potential in the coming years. According to the publication, Xbox is prepared to spend nearly $400 million on Kojima’s new spy project.
The new strategy requires investing in certain areas, and it is indeed doing that. For example, it just signed a contract for a big game with Hideo Kojima, with a reported budget of around $400 million, and now it’s also investing in a new Halo team.
Journalist Jason Schreier urged caution regarding this figure. According to him, several different sums exist: the initial budget of the PlayStation deal, negotiation amounts, the project cost with specific actors, the Xbox offer, and the final expenses before release.
Someone from Xbox with direct information about this deal told me that they signed the contract for Physint for significantly less money.
Meanwhile, Kojima Productions previously questioned reports about the project moving to Xbox.
