New Magic Leak Confirms Fully-Foil Spider-Man Commander Deck

Released in September 2025 as part of the Magic: The Gathering Universes Beyond series, Marvel’s Spider-Man notably launched without preconstructed Commander decks—a major oversight for fans of the game’s most popular multiplayer format. Lead designer Mark Rosewater clarified that the collaboration initially began as a compact mini-set before Wizards of the Coast decided to scale it up. Due to the rushed timeline, dedicated Commander products had to be scrapped. However, Rosewater hinted that the beloved format might still receive Spider-Man support down the line. That speculation gained serious traction via a June leak, and fresh unofficial reports have now added further credibility to the rumor.

New Leak Points to an Upcoming Spider-Man Magic Commander Deck

On September 25, X (formerly Twitter) user @MTGOSalseo posted an image detailing an unannounced Spider-Man Commander deck slated for a December 4 release. According to the user, the promotional package was sent to them by mistake, leaving the leak unverified by official channels for now. The upcoming product is reportedly a Jeskai (white, blue, and red) build featuring Peter Parker at the helm as the primary Commander, alongside alternate options like Gwen Stacy and Miles Morales.

Insiders claim the box will contain 50 cards featuring fresh illustrations—consisting of 30 brand-new additions alongside 20 curated reprints pulled from the Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel Super Heroes inventories. For dedicated collectors willing to splurge, a premium Collector’s Edition will also be available, boasting an exclusive surge foil treatment across every single card. This marks only the fifth occasion Wizards of the Coast has rolled out an entirely foil-treated Commander release, following similar treatments given to Warhammer 40,000, Modern Horizons 3, Final Fantasy, and Marvel Super Heroes.

Although corporate confirmation is still pending, this latest leak aligns closely with early-summer rumors. While competitive circles had mixed feelings about the initial Marvel’s Spider-Man expansion, the Commander demographic remains the driving financial engine of the trading card game. Many enthusiasts were initially disappointed by the omission of a dedicated wall-crawler preconstructed deck, but it appears they may finally get their wish just in time for the holidays.
