Netflix has introduced Fyre, a brand new documentary about Fyre Festival, the failed luxurious music pageant promoted by the now-incarcerated Billy McFarland and Ja Rule. It’s directed by Chris Smith, who made final 12 months’s documentary Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond. According to Netflix, the brand new documentary “gives a first-hand look into the disastrous crash of Fyre as told by the organizers themselves.” Fyre hits Netflix on January 18, 2019. It’s produced by Vice Studios, Library Films, and Jerry Media. Watch the trailer beneath.
Next 12 months, Hulu plans to run a docuseries about Fyre Festival. Back in 2017, Seth Rogen and the Lonely Island indicated that they had been making a film that follows a storyline similar to the Fyre disaster.
