New “Edge of Tomorrow” May Start in 2026

Filming on a science-fiction sequel to Edge of Tomorrow is expected to commence by the end of 2026, according to Production Weekly.

Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt are reported to be poised to return to their principal roles, with Doug Liman once again attached to direct.

The original Edge of Tomorrow premiered in 2014 and was adapted from Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s Japanese work All You Need Is Kill. The story follows Major Bill Cage (Cruise) as he battles an alien species waging an assault on Earth.

The film earned roughly $370 million worldwide against a $178 million budget and was well received by critics. Warner Bros. began development on a sequel in the mid-2010s, but production has been delayed on multiple occasions.
