ARK Community Crunch 279: Next Creature Vote and Lost Island Update

Community Crunch 279, published on August 7, 2021, combined a Lost Island development update with the announcement of another community creature vote. Studio Wildcard was working on the map, new creatures and stability patches while preparing to repeat the submission process used for Lost Island.

Another creature submission cycle

The planned process would begin with community creature ideas and open upvoting. Studio Wildcard would then narrow the field to ten candidates for a final vote, with the winner scheduled to be added to ARK. The issue announced the process for later in 2021 but did not yet provide submission dates or name the destination map.

Cryopod crash under investigation

The live-game team had identified a crash triggered when releasing tames from cryopods on Player Dedicated servers and Windows 10 clients. A resolution was in progress at publication time. This is an archival report of the August 2021 status, not a claim that the old defect remains active.

Community corner and EVO status

No EVO event was scheduled for that weekend. The community section highlighted a Syntac Fjordur adventure, a Raasclark mutation guide, fan art and player screenshots.
