For a long time, Definitive Jux rapper Alec “Despot” Reinstein, former Das Racist hypeman Ashok “Dap” Kondabolu, and New York rapper Aleksey “Lakutis” Weintraub have hosted an internet radio show called Chillin Island. They’re now taking the concept to HBO. The unscripted Chillin Island television series premieres next Friday, December 17 at 10:30 p.m. Eastern. Watch a trailer below.

The Chillin Island series finds Despot, Dap, and Lakutis hanging out with various musicians in the wilderness. The first episode features Young Thug. Additional episodes feature Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weeknd, Lil Tecca, Rosalía, Coi Leray, Gunna, Killer Mike, Ski Mask the Slump God, and Lil Yachty.

Chillin Island is executive produced by Despot, Josh Safdie and Sebastian Bear-McClard from Elara Pictures, Oscar Boyson, Adel “Future the Prince” Nur, Jason Shrier, and Anthony Gonzales. The show is narrated by Steven Wright.

“Tuning into an episode of Alec, Dap and Lakutis’ internet radio show was like hanging out with rappers and Howard Stern if he was on K,” Elara Picutres said in a press release. “It was so easy and yet so deep. When Alec approached us to create a TV show with the vibe of their radio show, it only made sense to put them and their guests in the middle of nowhere and ask Steven Wright to be the voice of God.”
