Netflix Confirms Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 Coming This Fall

Netflix, Studio Trigger, and CD Projekt Red have officially confirmed that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2—the highly anticipated successor to their critically lauded 2022 anime sensation—is slated for release this fall.

While the project was initially teased at Anime Expo last year, the series’ official social media channels ramped up the excitement earlier this week. Following a series of cryptic updates that saw new faces added to the key art, the studio finally pulled back the curtain on June 28, confirming a fall 2026 premiere window.

Given the high casualty rate of the original cast, Edgerunners 2 will spotlight a fresh ensemble. Recent teasers have introduced us to a diverse lineup, including the vengeful Snake Nation Netrunner D, an aspiring documentary filmmaker named Roman Carax, the Maelstrom operative Talia Yang, and an enigmatic mercenary known as Weak Kingsley.

Although establishing a legacy as potent as that of Lucy and David is a daunting task, the pedigree of Studio Trigger suggests we are in for a visually breathtaking experience. The original series was hailed for its inventive visual flair and its ability to expand upon the lore of Cyberpunk 2077, setting a high bar for this new installment.
