Netflix has officially secured the rights to broadcast the eighth and ninth seasons of the global hit animated series “Masha and the Bear,” according to Deadline.
Subscribers across North and Latin America, Europe, India, Japan, South Korea, the Middle East, and other regions will soon have access to the upcoming episodes. Additionally, the streaming giant will expand its library with the show’s popular spin-offs, “Masha’s Tales” and “Masha’s Spooky Stories.”
First debuting in 2009, “Masha and the Bear” follows the mischievous adventures of a spirited young girl and her patient bear companion. The franchise stands as a true global phenomenon, with its total view count on YouTube having long surpassed the 100 billion mark.
News of these acquisitions arrives shortly after reports confirmed that a full-length feature film is currently in development, with series creator Oleg Kuzovkov serving as producer.
