NEON Developing Two SCP Feature Films
Neon is developing its own feature film adaptation of the SCP Foundation, aiming to preserve the core principle of the SCP Wiki by releasing the project under an open Creative Commons license.
SCP Foundation fans could receive two separate feature film adaptations in 2027. According to Deadline, Neon is preparing its own film to run parallel to A24’s project, with work on Neon’s movie having started before its competitor’s announcement.
The studio calls the project an open-license horror film and maintains contact with the SCP Wiki licensing team. The film and related materials are planned for release under the Creative Commons CC BY-SA license, which will allow other creators to copy, distribute, and adapt the film, including for commercial purposes. To do so, creators must credit the original materials and the film’s creators, and release their own adaptations under the same license.

Both films are expected to release in 2027, though exact dates have not yet been announced. A24 acquired its project from Spooky Pictures and Image Nation Studios. The project was previously announced as a new installment in the V/H/S horror anthology titled V/H/S: SCP, but it remains unknown whether that status changed following the deal with A24.
