Naughty Dog Officially Celebrates The Last of Us Day with DLC

Every September, Naughty Dog marks The Last of Us Day—formerly known as Outbreak Day until the developer sensibly rebranded it in 2020. Commemorating September 26, the canonical date of the Cordyceps pandemic, the studio uses the occasion to honor the beloved franchise with fresh digital wallpapers, exclusive merchandise, and glimpses into the HBO adaptation. This year, however, the standout headline is an unexpected crossover for an entirely different gaming franchise.

In a surprising partnership, Naughty Dog teamed up with Ghost series creator Sucker Punch to design a Clicker-inspired armor set for Ghost of Yōtei. The striking cosmetic pack becomes available for download this Thursday, arriving alongside the debut of Ghost of Yōtei: Complete Edition and its accompanying Echoes of Sekigahara expansion. Frankly, the crossover gear looks exceptionally impressive.

As detailed in Naughty Dog’s official blog post for the 2026 celebration, the studio notably launched dedicated official social media channels for the series. Alongside the cross-game armor collaboration, the team announced a partnership with Youtooz to release a menacing Bloody Clicker collectible figure.

Additional festivities include a charitable livestream benefiting AbleGamers beginning Monday at 5 p.m. EDT, an atmospheric subway ambiance video, and digital price cuts across Steam and the Epic Games Store. Fans can also acquire exclusive Steam points shop avatars for Part 1 and Part 2, alongside a custom PlayStation theme and regional avatars. The redemption codes for these profile icons are listed below:

  • Americas: QDFN-GT5D-AMG7
  • Europe/Australia: 9EBR-7QEJ-R3CG
  • Japan: JQ38-ER84-H78R
  • Korea: LH7H-CE4H-J527
  • Asia: MMLL-XQGG-Q9BG

As expected, Naughty Dog remained tight-lipped regarding the long-term future of the franchise. The studio’s immediate focus remains on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, a project currently lacking a definitive release window. Beyond that title, leadership has not disclosed what lies ahead, leaving it unconfirmed whether legendary pillars like The Last of Us or Uncharted—dormant since 2017—will eventually see new installments.

Nevertheless, co-creator Neil Druckmann recently offered reassurance to dedicated followers, stating that the studio is “not done with The Last of Us” once the television adaptation concludes. The hit HBO series is scheduled to wrap up its narrative run in 2027 with its third season.
