It was the one with the ex on a recent episode of Australia’s The Kyle and Jackie O radio show! Natalie Imbruglia was the guest, and briefly discussed ex-boyfriend David Schwimmer, whom she dated in the ’90s while Friends was airing.
The topic came up when host Kyle mentioned that he watched HBO Max‘s Friends: The Reunion, and was curious when he heard Schwimmer and Aniston discuss their mutual crushes, and how the timing for a romance was never quite right because they were both dating other people.
“Were you wondering if there was a crossover?” asked the singer, who is promoting her new song “Build It Better” off upcoming album Firebird. “I thought that too. No, I’m joking!”
Jackie then asked which season it was that Imbruglia dated the Emmy-nominated actor, but she couldn’t remember exactly. “It was such a long time ago I don’t recall,” the artist admitted. “I do remember being on the set, and I remember everyone being lovely and really, really nice. I wasn’t paying attention to whether they were giving each other — you know — little looks over my shoulder. I don’t know if that was happening.”
Whatever it was, it’s old news, as far as Imbruglia is concerned. “I’m OK with whatever happened back then,” she added. “It was a long time ago!”
Imbruglia, whose 1998 hit “Torn” peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 42, may not have appeared on the reunion special, but other musicians did. Lady Gaga gave a surprise performance of “Smelly Cat” with star Lisa Kudrow, while Justin Bieber strut the runway in the “Spud-nik” costume worn by Ross (Schwimmer) for a Halloween episode, and BTS’ RM discussed his love for the NBC sitcom, which wrapped in 2004 after 10 seasons.
