Morrissey has canceled two scheduled shows in Massachusetts and Connecticut, citing safety concerns. In an Instagram post published Friday, September 19, 2025, the artist said the concerts would not proceed “out of an abundance of caution for the safety of both the artist and band.”

The announcement confirmed that tickets for the affected performances — the Foxwoods date in Mashantucket, Conn., and the MGM Music Hall at Fenway engagement in Boston — will be refunded automatically through the original point of purchase.

The Boston venue posted on Instagram that the cancellation followed receipt of a credible threat to Morrissey’s life, and that the decision was made to prioritize the safety of everyone involved.

While specifics about the threat have not been fully disclosed, the move comes after the recent arrest of an Ottawa resident, identified in reports as 26-year-old Noah Castellano, who was taken into custody following menacing statements posted on the social platform Bluesky ahead of Morrissey’s Ottawa concert. Local reporting indicates the suspect was charged with threatening to cause death or bodily harm; he was later released on $5,000 bail.

Despite the online warning, Morrissey went ahead with the scheduled Ottawa performance. Organizers and law enforcement subsequently handled the matter there, but the subsequent U.S. dates were called off as a precaution.

Fans with questions about refunds should contact their original point of sale. Promoters and venues typically process refunds automatically; ticket-holders who do not see a refund reflected within the advertised timeframe should reach out to the vendor where they purchased tickets.
