Mooski Hits No. 1 on Emerging Artists Chart, Maneskin Debuts in Top 10

Mooski rises 2-1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart (dated July 3) to become the top emerging act in the U.S. for the first time, thanks to his breakthrough single “Track Star.”

The single, which hit No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100 in May, drew 19.3 million radio audience impressions and 6.5 million U.S. streams and sold 1,000 downloads in the latest tracking week, according to MRC Data.

The song by the 23-year-old Alabama native and former Marine topped Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, reached No. 2 on Rhythmic Airplay and rises 37-36 on the latest Pop Airplay chart.

Mooski succeeds Kali Uchis atop Emerging Artists. The latter spent 10 weeks at No. 1 and graduates from the chart this week as her hit single “Telepatía” jumps 30-25 on the Hot 100.

The Emerging Artists chart measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay and streaming to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity. The chart excludes acts that have notched a top 25 entry on either the Hot 100 or Billboard 200, as well as artists that have achieved two or more top 10s on Billboard‘s “Hot” song genre charts and/or consumption-based “Top” album genre rankings.

Among other Emerging Artists moves, 2021 Eurovision Song Contest champion Måneskin debuts at No. 8 thanks to the Italian quartet’s singles “Beggin’ ” and “I Wanna Be Your Slave,” which place at Nos. 26 and 30 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, respectively.

The songs also place at Nos. 7 and 11 on the Global 200 Excl. U.S. ranking, respectively. The winning Eurovision song, “Zitti E Buoni,” ranks at No. 22, with all three tracks having hit the top 10.

Måneskin isn’t the only Eurovision winner in the Emerging Artists top 10. Duncan Laurence, who triumphed in the 2019 contest, representing the Netherlands, ranks at No. 3 on Emerging Artists, hitting a new high, thanks to his winning single “Arcade.” The track enters the top 20 (21-20) on Pop Airplay.
