As the holiday season draws closer, Capcom is giving us some news of Monster Hunter Rise, the Nintendo Switch exclusive episode still due for release on March 26, 2021. In fact, the official website of the game has just been updated and it hosts no less than 14 new videos, each presenting all the weapons that we will be able to use in the game. A beautiful collection that does not present any real novelty, in the sense that fans of the series now know them by heart. On the other hand, each of them have new functionalities, in particular thanks to the addition of the filoptera (this is an insect connected to a silk thread that allows you to hover everywhere) and each weapon has two new “silk tie” attacks.
Let’s take an example : the Great Sword will prove to be even more powerful since thanks to the filoptera, it can see its charged blows be even more devastating, while in its second “pose”, it is possible to catapult itself in the air to fall back with more brutality on its target and therefore cause more damage.
Another example: by associating the filoptera with the famous Hammer, it is possible to have access to two new attacks, namely “Devastating impact”, which allows to associate an attack while climbing followed by a powerful blow during the descent, while “Silk Link Fulgurant Tourbillon” is, as its name suggests, a swirling but aerial attack.
Note that a Monster Hunter Rise demo will be available in January, two months before the game’s release on March 26, 2021 on Nintendo Switch.
