Modder Adds Seamless Co-Op to Monster Hunter: World on PC After 8 Years

Players have received a new option for cooperative hunting.

Following the release of Monster Hunter: World, Capcom has already introduced several new entries in the franchise—Monster Hunter: Rise and Wilds—but MHW continues to attract players to this day and is supported by the modding community.

Recently, an enthusiast named huntardy released a modification for Monster Hunter: World that adds a fully seamless cooperative gameplay mode to the monster hunting simulator. This means that a group of players stays together during quests, expeditions, and cutscenes, and they can also spend time together in the town.

huntardy published a demonstration of how this modification works:

huntardy warned players about a technical detail: every time the game starts, before the “MHW Seamless Co-op” modification takes effect, a save backup will be created in the “nativePC/plugins/mhw-seamless-coop-backups” folder. The ten most recent saves will be recorded.

The “MHW Seamless Co-op” modification for Monster Hunter: World is available for free through Nexus Mods. After installing the mod and launching the game on Steam, an in-game panel will automatically appear.
