Miley Cyrus is totally in her element in the colorful ad for Gucci’s new fragrance, Flora Gorgeous Gardenia. The singer, who was announced as the face of the fashion house’s new Eau de Parfum from creative director Allesandro Michele in June, communes with flowers, cats and dogs in a lush, vibrant garden in the ad soundtracked by her sparkling pop-rock ditty “Delicious.”
“Delicious/ You’re so old and we’re so young/ We’re gonna have some fun/ Cuz we want to/ Come on, come on, come on,” she sings over jangly guitars on the song written by Jacqueline Blake, Caroline Askew and Conall Ronan Fitzpatrick and produced by Omer Fedi and Blake Slatkin.
The visual finds Miley — dressed in a purple top with a sparkly pink collar and plaid pants — strumming a pink electric guitar on the beach before she’s transformed into a saucer-eyed anime character who blasts off into space. “Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia makes me think of my grandmother who always smelt of fresh cut flowers. When I stop to smell them it’s like I’m with her. It’s the greatest gift,” Miley wrote on Instagram on Wednesday (July 28). “The #FloraFantasy is being who you are. None of us are made with just one ingredient. We all have different notes, some subtle and some bold,” she added in a second post.
“Miley Cyrus is an artist with a spirit that is both rock ‘n’ roll and eclectic at the same time. I admire her and I think she will perfectly embody the new Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia fragrance and story,” said Michele in a statement in June. The joy-filled video was directed by Petra Collins under Michele’s creative direction. Flora Gorgeous Gardenia will be available starting Friday (July 30) on gucci.com and in select Gucci stores on Aug. 1.
