Miley Cyrus Brings Out Drag-Queen Chorus to Cover Cher’s ‘Believe’ at Pride Special

Miley Cyrus dances her way through Pride (with the help of some drag queen friends) for a special rendition of Cher‘s 1998 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “Believe.”

The performance, which was released Wednesday (June 23), comes ahead of Cyrus’ new Pride specialMiley Cyrus Presents Stand by You, which will exclusively stream on Peacock starting June 25. Filmed at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, the hourlong concert special will see Cyrus take the stage with a number of country artists to celebrate all things LGBTQ.

Her star-studded lineup includes queer country stars like Brothers Osborne and Orville Peck and allies Maren Morris, Mickey Guyton and Little Big Town. A bedazzled Cyrus stuns for her “Believe” cover, matching Cher’s low vocal range while still giving it some signature Miley pizzazz — but she wasn’t the lonely one onstage for long. An extra shiny cohort of drag queens began snapping their way to the middle of the stage, surrounding Cyrus on both sides, before breaking out into a song-and-dance that caused the entire masked audience of the Ryman to go crazy.

The Plastic Hearts singer performs a number of her biggest hits, including “Party in the U.S.A.” and “The Climb,” while also covering songs like “Believe,” Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors” and a medley of some of her favorite Madonna songs during Stand by You.
