Mike Leigh’s latest film wins Grand Prix at San Sebastian Film Festival

The 74th edition of the San Sebastian International Film Festival concluded this past weekend, with the coveted Golden Shell awarded to “Tender Loving Care,” the latest drama from British cinematic legend Mike Leigh.

The film was further recognized with accolades for its screenplay and a standout performance by Kate O’Flynn, known for her role in *The Widow*. “Tender Loving Care” follows Amy, a public servant who moves in with her partner, a social worker named Rosie, while simultaneously supporting her aging parents through a difficult period. Leigh has previously suggested that this project may serve as his final feature film.

Presided over by American director Ira Sachs, the jury also recognized several other notable works, including Netflix’s *Black Ball* (Audience Award), the documentary *Naza*, and Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s *Suddenly*.
