Microsoft Reportedly Developing Multiple Next-Generation Xbox Helix Consoles
Microsoft has confirmed that the tenth-generation Xbox Helix will not be a single console, but rather an entire family of devices centered around a traditional Xbox.
Head of Xbox Asha Sharma shared this information during an internal staff meeting, a recording of which was obtained by Jez Corden from Windows Central. According to her, the situation earlier in the year was difficult as player numbers, time spent in the ecosystem, and revenue declined, while the previous Game Pass strategy put the business into a “free fall.” Metrics have now stabilized, and positive sentiment toward the brand has increased by 30% over the year.
Microsoft will continue to invest in Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Cloud Gaming, the disc-to-digital program, and Xbox Play Anywhere. Game Pass is also set to become more flexible.
The main changes await the next generation:
We are moving to a family of devices in the tenth generation. There is no single device that fits everyone. Of course, we will have a great console first and foremost, but we also know that many gamers want to play on the go.

Microsoft will manufacture some of the devices itself while bringing in partners for others. The company is also developing a new operating system and simplifying requirements and APIs to make it easier for developers to release games simultaneously on Xbox Series X|S, Helix, and PC.
